The First Time...

It was bound to happen sooner or later, and tonight it finally did.

The black eye and band aid covering five to six stitches (mama couldn't watch) are courtesy of a steel reinforced stair step at Kelley's school.

Matthew went running at his usual full speed, tripped, and landed face first on the bottom step of a staircase he had intended to climb. Julie gave Kelley off to our neighbor who took her to McDonald's (bless your heart, Katie and Mike) and Julie took Matt to the urgent care center. They took a look at him and supposedly told Julie he will have a scar and needed stitches. Four pretty nurses fawned over Matthew (he's from good stock) and Julie sat and held him while they sewed him up. Apparently, she looked faint at one point because the doctors/nurses asked her to sit.

He was a little sluggish at first when she got him home but once he got a couple episodes of Dragon Tales in him, he was back to old Matthew as you clearly see above. I'm just happy to have my home, safe and sound.
